Hotpuppy has been a long time in
coming you could say. We were rather frustrated by a couple of things
that we thought were lacking in the gay apparel market. First, we was
tired of having to go to stores
like Old Navy, GAP, and Abercrombie & Fitch to find cool shirts.
They always had straight stuff on them that was funny, but annoying because
it was straight. Secondly,
the gay stuff that was out there was either so obnoxious you couldn't
wear it in public, or it was just flat out obscene. There is nothing
wrong with obscenity, it just gets old and you can't wear it to work.
Hotpuppy finally launched in June of 2005. We initially created the brand
and
concept in the late 90's. The initial designs were conceived,
"blind box" without studying others' work. While we are sure
that some designs will offend a few here and there...get
over it. We're
out to have
fun, be unique, and still enjoy being able to blend in (sometimes).
